Have a green thumb? Use it for good this gardening season by planting an extra row in your garden and sharing the harvest with neighbors in need!
The idea is simple – Plant a Row for the Hungry and donate the extra produce to our food pantry. Fresh, homegrown fruits and vegetables are a treasure—nutritious, delicious, and often out of reach for those relying on donated food. Your backyard garden can make a huge difference to our neighbors!
For over 20 years, Plant a Row for the Hungry has honored the tradition of gardeners sharing their bountiful harvests with others. We encourage local home gardeners, hobby farmers and community gardens to take a hand in reducing hunger in the community by planting and harvesting extra produce, fruits, and herbs with the intention to donate in mind. We can use any peak-quality herbs, fruits, and vegetables from all growing seasons – from early lettuce to summer melons and even fall turnips and broccoli! Simply bring them to Dear Neighbor anytime Monday-Friday, 8am – 5pm.
By planting just one extra row of your favorites, your garden can feed more than just your family – it can nourish our neighbors. This year, plant with a purpose and grow a little extra goodness for our community.
